Kaibab Paiute Environment Department
The environmental program got started in 1998 under an ANA grant and later switched over to an Environmental Protection Agency grant that funds it to this day.
We have been involved in community and youth outreach starting in 1999 and continuing to this present date. The environmental program has evolved over the years to include two other additions to make us complete, the Water Quality Specialist program and Water / Bio Terrorism program.
Recycling and Water quality are just a few of the important issues to the environmental program. We are still planning to continue our efforts in environmental education for tribal members, tribal youth, and everyone that lives on the Kaibab Paiute Reservation. We also continue to work towards strengthening communication and interaction with other tribal programs and nearby federal agencies (e.g. Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management)
